Morningside is transforming into a cultural hub since The Grates members John Patterson and Patience Hodgson opened the Southside Tea Room.
The bar/cafe's newest venture invites budding artists to get scribbling with the Delta of Venus Life Drawing Club, held on the second Thursday of every month. The Delta of Venus Life Drawing Club allows you to be submerged in the past, with models styled in the themes of the 1920s, 1950s and the Victorian era.
Themed cocktails will accompany each era, along with music from the past to reinforce the old-timey atmosphere. Butcher's paper and charcoal will be available for those who get the sudden urge to join in, all at the low price of $15 to draw or $22 with a themed cocktail included.
The night coincides with Southside Tea Room's Take Out Thursday, so feel free to bring your favourite take away food to go with your drinks and drawings.
The club's grand opening will be held on Valentine's Day (February 14) from 7pm-9pm, wherein couples can pay $20 to draw or $30 with a cocktail each. Drop-ins are also welcome, depending on availability.
