Loveable party punks and 420 protagonists The Bennies are heating up in 2024 with new music and a national tour incoming.
Aside from their 2022 EP 'Great Barrier Reefer' and three standalone singles in 2019-2020, The Bennies most recent album was 2018's 'Natural Born Chillers'.'Let's Have A Party' is not only a teaser of the band's forthcoming album due later in the year, it's also one of the first songs created by the current Bennies line-up led by Anty Horgan (lead vocals, synth), who's joined by SNES Mega (turntables, vocals, guitar), Ollie Wright (lead guitar, vocals), and Nick Casalini (bass).
"We were partying a lot while doing this, and it was just a magical time," Anty says. "However, waking up hungover every day and using this song as the first one to kinda get the mojo happening kinda felt like torture.
"Singing the chorus over and over again at 10am while super, super hungover is kinda the furthest thing from a party. This song always makes me think about those mornings and it makes me smile from ear to ear!
"You gotta work for the party; nothing comes easy, especially the good times!" Those good times will continue when The Bennies blast around Australia in April on a four-date run through Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney.
"Cannot wait for [the] crew to hear some new Bennies," shares Anty. "It feels like we are on the cusp of absolute greatness and world domination!
"So the message is clear, let's have a party cos The Bennies are better. Let's have a party lacks subtly and so does The Bennies. . . so f... you let's party!"
The band's new album will also be the first released via Vinnies Records, spearheaded by the team at the Vinnies Dive Bar on the Gold Coast. This collaboration assures an authentic and refreshing release, with both the band and label staying true to their punk, DIY ethos.
