Made in California, the surf rockin' Beach Boys are surfing from USA to Australian shores in November on a national tour.

One of the most influential, enduring and fun, fun fun bands in pop history, The Beach Boys are the sound of summer. With album sales of over 100 million, 32 American Platinum and Gold awards, an induction into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame and a Lifetime Achievement Grammy, the BB's music defines youth and the warmth of the sun. Captained by Mike Love, The Beach Boys evoke places where life is renewed through sun drenched days in the surf and glorious nights in the sand.

The incredibly difficult to image, yet true saga of The Beach Boys is well chronicled, and by any standard it’s one of the most told musical stories ever – and now with the release of 'Love & Mercy'. Continuing their West Coast story, the BB's average 150 shows a year – a global celebration that is befitting of the remarkable and enduring legacy of these Rock & Roll Hall Of Famers.

Formed in 1961 by brothers Brian (who left the band in 1996), Dennis (d. 1983) and Carl (d. 1998) Wilson along with their cousin Mike Love and schoolmate Alan Jardine, The Beach Boys blended vocal harmonies and the topical splendour of California's mythos of an endless summer into a unique, new form. Crafting a series of hits more or less equal to anything of their contemporaries, the band, under the creative muse of their leader, songwriter and producer Brian Wilson, began to evolve their sound. They soon moved away from their surf, car and sand topicality towards more deeply passionate, introspective songs that examined love, heartache, and longing.

“It’s pretty miraculous that we can start out as a bunch of guys who didn’t know anything about fame or money, or anything like that,” says Mike Love. “All we knew was we liked to sing and make harmonies together. So to have it become part of American musical culture is pretty amazing.”

Surf’s up for The Beach Boys with Australia's own legends John Paul Young & The Allstar Band, Glenn Shorrock, Colleen Hewett and The Whitlams, plus Busby Marou, Kim Churchill, Sahara Beck and Good Oak, catching a wave throughout the tour.
