The Angels Headline Weekend Of Rock Concert Series

The Angels play Weekend Of Rock (Adelaide) on Friday 19 February.
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Turn the dial to 11 'cause classic rock is returning to the City of Churches with The Angels, The Masters Apprentices and Daryl Braithwaite to headline Weekend Of Rock in Adelaide (19-21 February).

The three-date concert series at Adelaide Oval (which will be transformed into a dedicated music venue) will feature local legends The Angels (and special guests Chocolate Starfish) headlining the Friday concert.

"The Angels are proud to kick off Weekend Of Rock on Friday night; we'll be bringing the rock back to Adelaide Oval," The Angels frontman Dave Gleeson says.

The '60s-'70s nostalgia feels will be overflowing on the Saturday night when '60s garage band favourites, The Masters Apprentices return to the stage for a special performance alongside another Adelaidian institution Zep Boys – Australia's #1 Led Zeppelin cover band.

"We are so excited to be live at last on a big concert stage here in Adelaide, and we can't wait to get back out there," Zep Boys lead singer Vince Contarino says.

The Sunday finale will feature a trio of Aussie '80s rock treasures: Jon Stevens, Daryl Braithwaite and Boom Crash Opera. "It's a long overdue welcome return to live music outdoors in a COVID-safe environment," Jon says.

"I look forward to performing the Noiseworks and INXS collection for you all on an amazing Weekend Of Rock."

General tickets to Weekend Of Rock go on sale from 8 January at 9am ACDT.
