triple J has revealed the 2016 J Award nominees with The Avalanches ('Wildflower'), Flume ('Skin'), SAFIA ('Internal') and Violent Soho ('WACO') leading the charge for Australian Album Of The Year.
Other notable nominees include: Big Scary, D.D Dumbo, Sticky Fingers and Montaigne.
Jordan Rakei, King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard, Ngaiire, Teeth & Tongue and The Drones are in contention for Double J Australian Artist Of The Year. While Unearthed Artist of the Year nominees are: Alex Lahey, Gretta Ray, Julia Jacklin, Kuren, Tash Sultana.
Now in its 12th year, the J Awards honour the very best Australian artists, from those exciting acts just beginning to forge their musical careers, to the musicians making ground-breaking bodies of work and accomplishing career highlights.
