Update - 24 October, 2022: The 1975 have sold our their Melbourne and Sydney shows, adding a second and final show in Melbourne. The band have also upgraded their Adelaide venue. Scroll down for the new details.
English rockers The 1975 will grace Aussie stages throughout April of 2023 in celebration of their upcoming album 'Being Funny In A Foreign Language'.
The group formed back in 2002 and have since established a distinctive aesthetic, ardent fan base, and unique sonic approach.
They'll arrive in the country armed with a brand-new body of work. 'Being Funny In A Foreign Language' will be The 1975's fifth studio album, and is perhaps their most intimate yet. It's rooted in performance.
The band have already released four singles from the upcoming album: 'All I Need To Hear', 'I'm In Love With You', 'Happiness' and 'Part Of The Band'. Their previous album, 2020's 'Notes On A Conditional Form' became their fourth consecutive #1 UK album. . . And it landed at #1 down under as well.
The 1975's long-awaited live comeback was back in August, as headliners for Japan's Summer Sonic Festival. Their 2023 dates are part of the band's 'At Their Very Best' tour, which includes massive shows in North America, UK, Ireland, and Japan. Their show at the legendary Madison Square Garden in New York City is already sold out.
Tickets are on sale 14 October at 11am local time.
