Texas tour Australia early 2024.

After playing Glastonbury recently, 'Say What You Want' Scottish rockers Texas return to Australia to mark the 35th anniversary of their 1989 debut single 'I Don't Want A Lover'.

Their first trip to Australia since their debut tour in 2017, Texas play exclusive concerts in Sydney and Melbourne early 2024.

Founded in 1986 by Johnny McElhone and Sharleen Spiteri, the group enjoyed initial success with their debut album 'Southside' in 1989 that featured Top 10 single 'I Don't Want A Lover'.

However, it wasn't till the late '90s that Texas' fame really bloomed with the release of their fourth studio album. 1997's 'White On Blonde' featured the aforementioned 'Say What You Want' as well as 'Black Eyed Boy', 'Halo' and 'Put Your Arms Around Me'.

Last month, Texas released the double compilation album 'The Very Best Of 1989 - 2023' (on CD and vinyl). It features their collaboration with The Wu-Tang Clan. The one that was remixed by Giorgio Moroder. The one that was an inspired Al Green cover. The club banger with a killer Donna Summer sample. The one that ended up the 'Ellen' theme song and so much more.

"Not bad for a hairdresser fae Glasgow," says Texas frontwoman Sharleen Spiteri, "but I gotta be honest: I still feel like I'm really close to the beginning.

"And the energy and the vibe between us all – as a band I don't think we've ever been happier, and I don't think we've ever been tighter. And I don't think we've ever been more definite about who we are."

Tickets on sale from 10am (local time) on 21 July.
