Legends of Australian music rub shoulders with a fresh crop of future stars on the first round artist line-up for The Gum Ball in 2019.
The towering titan of Aussie rock Tex Perkins leads the line-up, fronting his new outfit Tex Perkins & The Fat Rubber Band. Tex is a revered stalwart of Australian music as the iconinc voice of The Cruel Sea and Beasts Of Bourbon. His new band headlines opening night and features guitarist Matt Walker of Lost Ragas.
Considered one of the most important artists in the country at the moment, Zambia-born, Botswana-raised singer, rapper and poet Sampa The Great will tackle big issues and ideas with her hybrid of hip hop, soul, traditional African and pop.
Also joining the fray will be another great of Australian rock Magic Dirt, fronted by the incredible Adalita. After rocking the stage solo in 2014, she returns to Dashville with the band in tow after a lenghty hiatus.

Rounding out the first announcement is ARIA-nominated genre-bending songstress Mojo Juju, ultimate party trio Philadelphia Grand Jury, re-emerged pop genius and documentary subject Van Duren (USA),a special reformation by beloved theatrical prog wizards The Hauntingly Beautiful Mousemoon, Australian surf-rock royalty and soundscape Stylists Tamam Shud, gifted songsmith and storyteller Perry Keyes, enduring rocker Nick Barker & The Heartache State, Mexican ska outfit Los Kung-Fu Monkeys, 12-piece soul and hip hop collective The Regime, hard-rock behemoth Battlesnake, dub-jazz instrumentalists Midnight Tea Party and the Dashville return of Hunter-based psych-rocker William John Jr.
A family-friendly camping festival held in Lower Belford (Hunter Valley), The Gum Ball expands in 2019 to include ANZAC Day for what will be its 14th instalment.
