After the release in October of their debut album 'The Rot That Grows Inside My Chest', Adelaide punk-pop rockers Teenage Joans are ready to expand the record's universe with an accompanying short film.
The completely self-funded and orchestrated film written by the duo, Tahlia Borg and Cahli Blakers, 'The Rot That Grows Inside My Chest (The Film)' is a horror movie that sees our Teenage Joans heroes journey through Rotland.Directed and edited by Jamie Al Kayyali, the pair (playing themselves) become acquainted with the Easter Bunny (played by Blakers) and Tooth Fairy (played by Borg), before discovering the lands forbidden fruits, the candy apples, and the hidden secrets that they hold.
Teenage Joans will hosts screenings in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide early February accompanied by an intimate live performance and Q&A and bonus footage session.
2023 was a memorable year for Teenage Joans that saw them touring Australia heaps, travel to America for the first time, played Groovin The Moo, released their debut album followed by a sold-out national tour, before they topped off the year with a support slot rock & roll legends Foo Fighters.
Next week Teenage Joans will support Tony Hawk at his one-off Australian event in Brisbane celebrating the 25th anniversary of his revolutionary 'Tony Hawk's Pro Skater' video game.
They'll then tour the US as Noahfinnce's support act in March-April. You can only expect bigger things from Teenage Joans in 2024.
