Their first tour down under in five years, Scottish legends Teenage Fanclub return to Australia in 2024.
Led by founding members Norman Blake and Raymond McGinley – alongside drummer Francis Macdonald, bassist Dave McGowan and keyboardist Euros Childs – will headline concerts in Perth, Sydney, Melbourne, Byron Bay, Brisbane.A band who are now into their fourth decade of existence, Teenage Fanclub will create a set list from their esteemed discography that includes 'Bandwagonesque', 'Thirteen', 'Grand Prix', 'Songs From Northern Britain', 'Howdy!', 'Man Made', 'Shadows & Here' and 'Endless Arcade'.
Fresh from a number of European festival dates and ahead of their massive UK-European tour, Teenage Fanclub will release their 13th studio album 'Nothing Lasts Forever' in September – it was recorded across ten days in the Welsh countryside at Monmouth's Rockfield Studios.
"We never talk about what we're going to do before we start making a record," explains Raymond of the forthcoming release.
"The record feels reflective, and I think the more we do this thing, the more we become comfortable with going to that place of melancholy, feeling and expressing those feelings."
Adds Norman: "These songs are definitely personal. You're getting older, you're going into the cupboard getting the black suit out more often.
"Thoughts of mortality and the idea of the light must have been playing on our minds a lot. . . When we write, it's a reflection of our lives."
Tickets on sale from 10am (local time) on 10 July.
