Australian indie rockers Teen Jesus And The Jean Teasers are capping a massive 2024 with a national tour.
Winners of Best Independent Rock Album or EP at the recent AIR Awards as well as nominees for Australian Album Of The Year at the J Awards and Emerging Songwriter Of The Year at the APRA Awards, the 'AHHHH!' and 'I Used To Be Fun' quartet will headline shows in Fremantle, Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne the first week of November. With a trio of North American shows at the end of next month alongside festival appearances at Big Pineapple Festival (Sunshine Coast) and NYE On The Hill (Gippsland), Teen Jesus And The Jean Teasers will also release a deluxe edition of their 2023 debut album 'I Love You' on 20 September (pre-order it), which features their new single 'Dull feat. Softcult' (a companion-song of sorts to 'I Used To Be Fun').
"'Dull' has similar themes to 'I Used To Be Fun'," vocalist Anna Ryan says. "We had been talking about how it feels to not have that motivation like we used to, to go out and party, and that it's often harder to sit with yourself and be alone with your thoughts rather than just distracting yourself with thing after thing!
"The lyrics 'find it hard to take it slow, burning out and now it shows' really resonates with me and I think it's like coming to terms with the fact that distracting yourself constantly is unsustainable. It's good to learn to just sit with stuff and take it frikken easy!"
Tickets on sale from 9am (local time) on 27 August.
