The push to get Taylor Swift onto Triple J's Hottest 100 is on, with Buzzfeed taking aim at triple j highlighting the absence of the pop phenom from the voting shortlist.
On Tuesday, Buzzfeed's Mark Di Stefano pondered the burning question of how the star, who commands gazillions of YouTube views, can't score a guernsey for the 2015 annual Australia Day radio pilgrimage. Following his comments there ensued the entirely predictable "God I hate triple j" vs the "Thank God for triple j" social media slugfest.
So with no word yet from the Warmest 100 camp, #Tay4Hottest100 is set to be the sideshow for this year's iconic list.
As Taylor Swift hasn't been played on Triple J, it's been suggested her tracks may not be eligible for the Hottest 100. However, the station's rules don't preclude this — but the rules do allow for voters to add their own tracks. So regardless of the merits of Swift's warblings or triple j's programming, the question remains "Will she get up? or at least "Is she eligible to make the list?".
FasterLouder says no.
Triple J hasn't said.
And many of us don't care.
