Tash Sultana Australia 2025 Tour

Tash Sultana
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and some beyond.

For the first time in six years, Tash Sultana will headline an Australian tour.

The news arrives in the wake of the multi-instrumentalist storming through a 14-date US tour in June, where they again sold out Red Rocks.

The three-date east-coast run will visit Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne early October, with Tash confirming these will be their only Australian 2025 shows, with no further dates to be added to these intimate concerts – it's first in, best dressed folks.

2025 has seen Tash release their tasty 'Return To The Roots' EP, a six-track project dubbed 'a creative recalibration' – the opportunity for an artist to rediscover the spontaneity of creativity and passion-fuelled art.

"My goal for 'Return To The Roots' was to capture a feeling I used to have when I played music for no other reason than pure, honest, unfiltered art," Tash says.

The EP is highlighted by a number of tracks, led by the sultry, aquatic-flavoured dub-roots of 'Milk & Honey' (reminiscent of Salmonella Dub), the horn-licious, velvety dub-reggae of 'Kiss The Sky', and the hypnotic beauty, hip hop-rock flow of 'Hold On' (just wait for the stirring piano line melded to mesmerising saxophone tones).

The City and Colour collab 'Ain't It Kinda Funny' is also another banger, simmering with a countrified rootsy pop-rock. "With this music, I went back to the beginning – to help me rediscover that spark of when I first started making music," Tash posted recently.

"It's pure and unfiltered me, having gone through a journey in my life and career to get to this point. For those of you who have been around for a while, thank you. If you're new here, welcome and enjoy."

An artist who has sold out Red Rocks three times (each time in under five minutes), Tash is one of the biggest Australian artists of their generation, having won the 2016 Unearthed Artist Of The Year, accrued 13 ARIA Awards nominations (winning Best Blues & Roots Album in 2018).

Their catalogue of hits stretches back to breakthrough track 'Jungle' as well as 'Notion', 'Pretty Lady', and 'Synergy' as well as 2019 hits, the Matt Corby collaboration 'Talk It Out' as well as Milky Chance joint 'Daydreaming'.

Joining Tash on the road will be two rising acts — South Summit and Ben Swissa. From Perth, South Summit have quickly made a name for themselves with their eclectic sound, weaving together indie, alt-rock, and reggae influences with heartfelt storytelling and magnetic stage presence.

Meanwhile, Ben Swissa brings his own captivating energy, blending smooth vocals with raw, soulful production that's seen him emerge as one to watch on the national scene. Together, they'll set the stage for an unforgettable night of homegrown talent and powerful live music.

Tickets on sale fro 11am AEST on 8 August.
