Tash Sultana And More Added To Bluesfest 2019

Tash Sultana
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Bluesfest have added another four artists to help celebrate their 30th anniversary this year, including the hottest-selling female artist in Australia Tash Sultana.

Joining Tash on the most recent announcement are New Zealand heavyweights SIX60, Sydney psych rockers Ocean Alley and Melbourne collective Amaru Tribe.

From busking on the streets of Melbourne to selling out international venues and winning ARIAs, Tash Sultana returns to Bluesfest after delivering two knockout performances there in 2018.

New Zealand five-piece SIX60 are the country's biggest international touring group, having played festivals the world over and both of their albums achieving quadruple platinum status.

After a string of sell-out shows in the United States and Europe, Ocean Alley continue to captivate audiences with their infectious melody lines and memorable blend of psychedelic surf-rock. In 2018 they released their second album 'Chiaroscuro', which has gone on to amass over 18 million streams worldwide.

Amaru Tribe is a unique collective of Melbourne based artists from Australia, Colombia, Argentina, Chile and Venezuela who incorporate vibrating charangos and electronic sounds with Afro-Latin beats and powerful vocal harmonies, creating a portal which connects the southern hemisphere and gives birth to an unknown genre called ‘Cumbia Oceanica’.

2019 Bluesfest is on in Byron Bay 18-22 April.
