Currently on the road in North America touring again, Tame Impala's December 2021 Australia tour has been forced to postpone to 2022 dates due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and travel restrictions currently in place.
The Slow Rush tour will now commence in Brisbane October 2022, with shows also in Sydney, Melbourne (x2), Adelaide and Perth."Hey Australia, hey NZ, as you may have suspected we've got to reschedule our December tour again. Sucks I know, but there's nothing we can do," Kevin Parker posted to the group's Instagram.
"All shows will now be happening in October 2022. If you can hang on to your ticket til then it'll be worth the wait I promise.
"Playing shows in Aus is so important to me and I've been hanging out to bring this show that we've been working on back home for so long now it's ridiculous (our last headline tour was 2015). Hang tight we'll see you soon xx."
All tickets already purchased remain valid for the new dates, though refunds are available for those who can't attend the rescheduled shows.
Tame Impala have also revealed the support acts who'll accompany them on tour; Canberra rapper Genesis Owusu ('Good Times' and 'Wit' Da Team') and emerging Brisbane artist Sycco who has had a massive 2021 that includes winning a Levi's Music Prize and taking home the Queensland Music Awards' Song Of The Year for her single 'Dribble'.
Limited tickets remain and are on sale now for all 2022 dates.
