For the first time in nine years, singer-songwriter Suzanne Vega returns to Australia for a career-spanning set of live shows.
In the ‘Flying With Angels’ Tour, Suzanne will perform favourites like ‘Tom’s Diner’, ‘Luka’, ‘Marlene On The Wall’, and more, plus songs from her latest album ‘Flying With Angels’. The album was released earlier this year, receiving critical acclaim.
Suzanne emerged as a leading figure of the folk revival of the early 1980s. Accompanying herself on acoustic guitar, Suzanne created contemporary/neo-folk songs of her own creation in Greenwich Village clubs. Since the release of her debut album in 1985, she’s played to sold-out audiences in many of the world’s best-known venues.
Suzanne’s music has been known to focus on city life, ordinary people, and real-world subjects. Notably succinct and understated, her work is immediately recognisable and utterly disjunct and thoughtful.
On the Australian tour, Suzanne will hit Brisbane, Caloundra, Tweed Heads, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. Plus, for the Australian shows, she’ll be joined by her long-time guitarist, Gerry Leonard, and cellist, Stephanie Winters.
Tickets on sale 30 October.
