Surf Rockers Pretty Uglys Start 2022 With A WA Tour

WA surf rock band, Pretty Uglys new single is titled 'Situation City'.
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Last year, WA surf rockers Pretty Uglys released a couple of singles including 'Party Friends' that racked up over 100k streams.

As they begin 2022, the trio of best mates (Jaxon, Jack and Jean-Luc) add to their discography with new single 'Situation City', a melodic, cruisy track they wrote after relocating to Perth.

"'Situation City' is a song we've had for a while now, so it was super fun to get it in the studio," the band says.

"Written around the time we moved up to Perth, 'Situation City' and the situations that occurred around that – it's a much slower tempo than the majority of our previous stuff, but still retains the energy everyone is familiar with with a fuzzed-out chorus."

The lads recorded the song at Sumo Studios with long-term collaborators Tristan Sturmer.

"It all started when mucking around on an acoustic guitar at a mate's house and the intro/ chorus chords came out. From there we cooked it up in our jam space at home."

A band who have shared stages with Ruby Fields, Sly Withers and Spacey Jane, Pretty Uglys have a number of shows across Western Australia throughout February. Tickets are on sale.
