One of Australia's most cherished as well as revered indie bands, the legendary Sunnyboys will embark on a final tour of Australia this summer.
Ten years removed from their emotional yet glorious comeback after a 21-year hiatus, Sunnyboys will headline concerts in Gold Coast (x2), Sydney (x2), Wollongong, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sunshine Coast and Brisbane throughout January-February 2023.These will be the Sunnyboys final live shows ever. No animosity, no musical differences, just the satisfaction of a job well done and knowing that it's time.
"Of the hundreds of bands, and thousand of people that we knew at the time, we're one of the few that can stand up and say 'We were really good at what we did, and we're really proud of what we did', and we're lucky enough to still be able to get up and say to people 'We're really proud to be able to present this to you now'," Sunnyboys guitarist Richard Burgman says.
While it will be a farewell to the road, Sunnyboys' fans will be blessed next month (11 November) with the release of the band curated, limited edition blue double vinyl 'Sunnyboys '81-'84' featuring all the hits, the equally-as-good b-sides, fan faves, rarities and live material – many appearing on vinyl for the first time.
Tickets on sale from 9am (local time) on 29 September.
