After its inaugural event to welcome in 2020, Melbourne's Sun Cycle Festival will move from New Year's Day to 30 January in 2021 as well as landing at a new location – Sidney Myer Music Bowl.
Headliners will be home-town psychedelic-jazz enthusiasts Mildlife and dance-floor favourite CC:DISCO!, making her return from Europe.Naarm-based selector C.FRIM, Krautback discotheque Wax'o Paradiso and neo-soul group Izy, plus local DJs Sophie McAlister with Chris Gill (Northside Records) fill out the Sun Cycle Festival line-up.
The day will also present a statement against racism, with event organisers sharing: "We dance on land that was forcibly taken from Aboriginal people.
"We will mark the day with a significant Welcome To Country, a moment we encourage all of our patrons to engage with and reflect on.
"The messages of equality and sustainability will be a common-thread through not only our line-up but the environment we come together in."
General tickets go on sale from 12pm EDT on 16 December.
