SummerSalt 2025 Line-up

L-R top to bottom: John Butler, Missy Higgins, Fanning Dempsey National Park, The Waifs
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

As the country continues to heat up in the shadows of summer, annual regional travelling festival SummerSalt returns in 2025 with another delicious serving of Australian talent.

Set to land in Launceston, Mornington, Mount Gambier and Port Macquarie next March-April, the all-Aussie line-up is saturated with a who's who of Australian contemporary artists led by Missy Higgins (who'll be inducted into the ARIA Hall Of Fame at this month's ARIA Awards) who has had a massive 2024, achieving another #1 album with 'The Second Act' (20 years after her debut album 'The Sound Of White' also achieved #1) while playing her biggest concerts to date.

Another stalwart of the Australian music scene, John Butler is currently reinventing himself with the four-album Four Seasons project, a reflection of John's inner journey with the recent second record 'Still Searching' serving as a metaphor for Butler's own recalibration and rebirth.

Two icons of Australian music, Powderfinger's Bernard Fanning and Something For Kate's Paul Dempsey (each certified songwriting legends) have formed Fanning Dempsey National Park, releasing their debut album 'The Deluge' of sophisticated art rock and alt-pop.

Rounding out the 2025 bill are a trio of veterans: folk-rock trio The Waifs ('London Still', 'Lighthouse'), indie pop darlings The Whitlams ('No Aphrodisiac', 'Blow Up The Pokies') and five-time ARIA Award-winning singer-songwriter Josh Pike ('The Summer', 'Middle Of The Hill').

"Can't wait to get to some outdoor summery shows out and about all around Australia next year," shares Fanning Dempsey National Park. "What a line-up, with lots of mates and what a run of fabulous venues. Get into it FDNP fans."

Adds The Whitlams: "We are delighted to be heading around Australia with SummerSalt joining the incredible line-up of Missy Higgins, John Butler, Fanning Dempsey National Park, The Waifs and Josh Pyke. What a great bill."

Tickets on sale from 10am (local time) on 13 November.
