The annual Street Machine Summernats Festival has announced its biggest music line-up in the event’s history, with two of Australia’s greatest hip-hop acts, Bliss n Eso and Illy set to headline the main stage, and Aussie rock legends The Radiators who will be opening Summernats 28.
The Radiators have been one of Australia’s most iconic pub rock bands for more than three decades, playing all over Australia and the world with Gold and Double Platinum albums to their name.
Multi-platinum, ARIA award winning Bliss n Eso, who are currently writing and recording their new album, will be coming out of the studio for a special one-off show. Canberra was one place they didn’t get to. “We are big fans of Summernats and have been following the event for years, we are really excited to be headlining the music stage in 2015 and will be putting together a very special show for this event.”
Set to take centre stage is Aussie hip-hop artist and 2013 ARIA Award winner, Illy who rose to fame in 2009 after the release of his album ‘Long Story Short and has since released another 3 albums including the 2013 ARIA Best Urban Album 'Bring It Back'. On the opportunity to play at the iconic Summernats event, Illy expresses, “I’m stoked to be playing at Summernats in Canberra. I can’t wait ... it’s gonna be a lot of fun. I’ll see you there.
Kicking off New Year’s Day with a bang will be an official Guinness World Record attempt for the world's largest simultaneous burnout. Geared to smash the world record previously set by Summernats 26, where 69 cars made history on the specialised burnout pad - the Summernats is aiming to break their own record with more than 100 cars. An official adjudicator from the Guinness World Records will be on hand to officially prove that Summernats in Canberra is the worldwide home of burnouts.
Exhibition Park Canberra from January 1st to 4th, 2015.
