Summer Sounds Festival Heads To Brisbane Bringing King Gizzard, Ball Park Music & More

Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, The Avalanches, Violent Soho and Ball Park Music will each headline their own concert in Brisbane as part of the Summer(ish) Sounds Festival series.

After staging successful series in Adelaide and Melbourne (that attracted more than 40,000 music lovers) the Summer Sounds Festival heads north for four all-ages concerts late next month at the iconic setting of The Riverstage.

Post-apocalyptic acid punk outfit Tropical F... Storm and psych-garage dynamos The Murlocs will join King Gizzard for an evening of damn-fine psychedelic rock (23 April).

Winners of the 2020 Australian Music Prize, The Avalanches will take you on a live cosmic journey as they showcase their most recent studio album 'We Will Always Love You' (30 April).

Moshpit levels will reach peak moshing when Violent Soho (owners of one pf 2020's best albums 'Everything Is A-OK') are joined by their mates Tired Lion and exciting up and comers Seathru (1 May).



Then it'll be time for an epic sing-along sesh when local legends and current triple j darlings Ball Park Music serenade The Riverstage (3 May); they'll also handpick the support acts (tba).
