The inaugural Summer Nights Live festival – staged at The Crescent, Parramatta Park on 25-26 January – will welcome Brisbane pop stars The Veronicas and Melbourne rockers/ alt-country crooners Kingswood on the first night, before Aussie legend Jon Stevens headlines the Australia Day entertainment.
Summer Nights Live will be staged within COVID-safe measures, including socially distanced seating, ticketed registrations and COVID-safe check-ins.For Kingswood's Fergus Lincare, "it has been too long, far too long! If we had to wait any longer to play a big stage rock & roll show I think our collective heads would in perfect synchrony explode.
"And what a festival, in such a beautiful part of the world, to come and save us, and bring the music back to the people. We can't wait."
After a sell-out tour in 2019, Jon Stevens (Noiseworks, The Dead Daisies, INXS) will be joined by Australian Rock Collective (ARC) – a band that features 33 ARIA Awards and 16 top-ten albums between its four members: Darren Middleton (Powderfinger), Mark Wilson (Jet), Kram (Spiderbait) and Davey Lane (You Am I).
"In 2021, our popular Australia Day event is undergoing an exciting transformation with a new concert series taking place over two nights in our City's beautiful, World Heritage-Listed Parramatta Park," City of Parramatta Lord Mayor Cr Bob Dwyer says.
General tickets are now available.
