Stonefield extend two years of relentless touring to promote new single 'Golden Dream'.
The new track was given a first play on triple j last week by Dom Alessio, and it showcases a dreamier, more psychedelic sound than previously heard from the Melbourne rockers. This track marks a definite change-up for the band.
“The song has a real sense of female strength. It thrives on the energy of a man longing for her to come back to him. It’s a woman’s perspective of the classic masculine band-on-the-road story – reassuring their partner back home that they’ll come back to them. I love that the strength of the female presence is contrasted by the more delicate vocal,” says Amy Findlay.
‘Golden Dream’ was produced by Spiderbait’s Kram, who is also producing the follow-up to Stonefield’s acclaimed self-titled debut 2013 album which featured the singles ‘Put Your Curse On Me’, ‘C’mon’ and ‘Love You Deserve’, and was named Rock Work of the Year at the 2015 APRA Awards.
The four-piece will hit the road this June/ July in support of ‘Golden Dream’ playing metro and regional centres throughout the country, giving crowds a taste of some of the currently unheard tracks from their anticipate sophomore album due for release in late 2015.
