Steve Kilbey's The Winged Heels Return With A Sydney Show

The Winged Heels play Paddo RSL (Sydney) 29 August, 2020.
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

With two collaborative album releases this year with Saffire's Gareth Koch, The Church's Steve Kilbey continues to release new music at an astonishing rate.

'Songs From Another Life (Music Of Antiquity)' follows Steve and Gareth's successful debut 'Chryse Planitia' earlier this year. "Working with language scholars and local musicians, we have attempted to bring these ancient songs alive," Steve says.

"They have rendered the songs in a manner that is comprehensible to the modern listener. The songs and recordings represent the thoughts and sounds of a distant antiquity. Here then is the past – and now the past is here."

After a sold-out show last month at Lizotte's Newcastle, Steve and Gareth return to the stage next week at Sydney's Paddington RSL once more joined by Barton Price (The Models) and Roger Mason (Icehouse).

Performing songs from both albums, The Winged Heels play two shows at Paddington RSL on 29 August: 6pm and 9.30pm.
