St Kilda Festival 2023 Line-up

St Kilda Festival (Melbourne) takes place 18-19 February, 2023, and is free to attend.

St Kilda Festival have released a monster line-up of live music for its 2023 instalment that returns to Melbourne's St Kilda Foreshore 18-19 February.

Back for its 42nd year (and still free to attend), the Saturday instalment will be dedicated to the appreciation of First Nations artists with celebrated singer-songwriter Christine Anu ('Island Home') joined by a special tribute to the late Archie Roach with his band and special guests joining together onstage for what will be an emotional celebration of an icon of Australian and Indigenous music.

Lady Lash, Jem Cassar-Daley, Jungaji, Dean Brady and Loren Ryan are other First Nations artists who'll showcase Blak excellence at St Kilda Festival.

"Hey happy people. . . excited to announce my first show of 2023 at the incredible St Kilda Festival on Feb 18! Hope to see you all there," shares Christine Anu.

Then on Sunday (19 February), music lovers will be joined by a stack of talent (more than 50 artists and bands across the multiple stages) led by '80s rock icons Hoodoo Gurus and electro-pop indie champions Confidence Man.

Other highlights of the Sunday line-up include Yothu Yindi, Genesis Owusu, Teen Jesus And The Jean Teasers, Ashwarya, Alice Ivy, JK-47, Agung Mango, Hatchie, Mick Harvey, Jen Cloher, THNDO, Folk Bitch Trio, Jerome Farah, Jelly Oshen, and The Black Harrys.

"St Kilda we love you, we breathe you, we're playing in you at St Kilda Festival this Feb! Come give us a kiss x," shares Teen Jesus And The Jean Teasers.

Adds Alice Ivy: "First show in a hot minute. See you at St Kilda Festival next month."

St Kilda Festival's diverse programme also features dance performances, workshops, sports demonstrations, community group activities, food and market stalls, roving entertainment and a dedicated family-friendly stage.

"We're excited this much-loved community celebration of Australian live music is back, bigger than ever for everyone to enjoy over two big days," Mayor of Port Phillip, Cr Heather Cunsolo says.

"This highly anticipated event showcases everything from the biggest names in Australian music to family-friendly activities and entertainment, set against the scenic backdrop of St Kilda's foreshore, and nearby vibrant Fitzroy and Acland Streets."

Adds Victoria's Minister for Creative Industries, Steve Dimopoulos: "For more than four decades, St Kilda Festival has been a summer highlight, becoming the country's biggest free music festival.

"This year brings a huge line-up of artists to the foreshore, including extraordinary First Nation artists, Australian music legends and up and coming acts.

"Supporting this iconic free event, is just one of the ways the Andrews Labor Government is backing our music industry, amplifying local talent and cementing our reputation as Australia's live music capital."

St Kilda Festival takes place St Kilda Foreshore and surrounds (Melbourne) 18-19 February and is free to attend.
