In the country at the moment supporting Primal Scream in Sydney (20 Feb) and Brisbane (21 Feb), electro-punk duo SSHH will release a new single, 'Rising Tide', early next month.
The pairing of Zak Starkey (son of Ringo Starr), who has drumming credentials with The Who and Oasis and Australian-born singer Sshh, SSHH have been compared to Aphex Twin and The Sex Pistols.
'Rising Tide' features a driving, wobbly bassline reminiscent of 'Play'-era Moby and Sshh's sassy vocals.
SSHH were recently described by NME as 'a pelvis swinging slice of gnarly power-pop rock with vocals so saucy they make ketchup seem like mere water'.
The concept of the song was born on a rainy night drive from Devon, when the duo were having an argument and Sshh looked out the window and remembered thinking: "Goddammit I can't stop this rain from falling just like I can't stop loving you.'
Those few words went on to inspire the lyrics for 'Rising Tide'.
