Spilt Milk Festival will not be going ahead in 2024.
The announcement on the official Instagram Page, read, "Sorry pookies, we couldn’t get you the Spilt Milk you deserve this year 🥲 Sooo imma dip for a bit and come back when I can make all ur dreams come true 🫶 i miss u xx". No reason was offered for the decision although the Instagram account alluded to a return in 2025.
2022's Spilt Milk Festival media release reminded us the event had a history of "selling out within 30 minutes" while last year's four-city event sold out Ballarat and Gold Coast. The 2023 Spilt Milk line-up included Post Malone and Dom Dolla atop a 30-strong field.
The burgeoning, relative newcomer to the festival scene (2016) had carved out a successful regional niche in a crowded but vibrant music festival environment, seen off COVID and appeared set to hold the line against the tide of festival cancellations enveloping the Australian scene.
The effective cancellation means Spilt Milk will join luminaries such as Groovin The Moo, Splendour In The Grass, Caloundra Music Festival, Dark Mofo and others in 2024.
