While the world we currently inhabit is still providing the odd curveball or two re: COVID outbreaks, the return of live music across Australia continues to build momentum including Summer Sounds Festival's Melbourne programme.
Alongside a number of support act additions, the series has slotted in another concert featuring a trio of Australia veteran rock, punk groups: Spiderbait, Jebediah and Bodyjar – you best prepare for a massive evening of heaving rock at Sidney Myer Music Bowl on 5 March. On the support act front, the eclectic pop sounds of Alice Ivy will join Ball Park Music and Thelma Plum (25 Feb), while the frantic yet taut rhythms of Melbourne locals Smarts bolster the King Gizzard and Tropical F... Storm bill (26 Feb).
Charismatic and honest singer-songwriter Didirri and 'Work For Me' soul-pop singer Mia Wray will enthral the audience at Bernard Fanning and Something For Kate (27 February).
The current back-to-back winner of WAM Song Of The Year award (2019, 2020), Carla Geneve – who releases her debut album 'Learn To Like It' in April – is joining Spacey Jane's two concerts (3-4 March).
General tickets to the Spiderbait, Jebediah and Bodyjar concert go on sale 9am EDT on 12 February. Tickets to all other concerts are on sale now.
Summer Sounds Festival runs 25 February till 5 March at Sidney Myer Music Bowl (Melbourne).
