Spiderbait are loading up their music cases in celebration of the 20th anniversary of their album 'Tonight Alright' and its mega hit 'Black Betty' this winter/ spring.

Janet, Kram and Whitt will spend plenty of time onstage with a ten-date run visiting Brisbane, Adelaide, Hobart, Newcastle, Wollongong, Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, Gold Coast and Canberra from August to October.

Filled with crunchy riffs, sandblasting drums, super-tight rhythms and the occasional introspective tune, the band recorded 'Tonight Alright' in Weed, California, with producer Sylvia Massy (Tool, System Of A Down, Prince, Johnny Cash, Red Hot Chili Peppers).

A record that arrived 15 years into their career, 'Tonight Alright' features their most streamed song 'Black Betty' (that hit #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart two months after its debut plus cracked the US Top 40 Rock Chart) as well as head-snapping bangers 'F...en Awesome' and 'Put It Down' alongside deeper cuts like 'Take Me Back', '5th Set', 'Cows' and 'Tonite'.

"I can't believe it's 20 years since we released 'Black Betty' and it went to number 1," Kram says. "Since then, the song has become a bit legendary for us and has racked up over a hundred million streams on Spotify and 75 million views on YouTube which is nuts. The whole ride has been so awesome and was so unexpected.

"So to mark this mad anniversary of our biggest hit we are announcing a very special tour to celebrate 'Black Betty' and its 20th anniversary. We're super pumped and can't wait to see y'all out there. Come celebrate Black Betty with us!"

An added bonus for fans is the news Spiderbait will issue the album on limited edition red vinyl, with alternative artwork 26 July; pre-order it.

"Nothing beats seeing live music," adds Janet. "I'm really excited to bring everyone along with us and leave them with a big smile. Feels like we're throwing a party in the machinery shed on the farm like the old days."

Spiderbait's legacy is assured having chalked up almost every Aussie accolade possible as well as multiple ARIA Awards and becoming the first Australian band to claim #1 on triple j's Hottest 100 (in 1996 with 'Buy Me A Pony').

Adds Whitt: "I loved touring this album 20 years ago, we went back to a raw guitar, bass and drums. That approach comes naturally to us."

Tickets on sale from 10am (local time) on 22 May.
