The summer vibes are on their way, and Brisbane residents can look forward to a new way of soaking them up, through a wave of electronic music performances in Southwave: Summer Electronic Series.

Southwave: Summer Electronic Series is a programme of free events across January and February, bringing an influx of internationally renowned electronic artists, and local talent, to the River City.

The event will transform Brisbane’s Rainforest Green into an open-air dance floor across nine Queensland summer nights. It’s set to be a pop-up venue, pulsing with feel-good energy and the laid-back, welcoming vibe which Queensland is known for.

“Electronic music has always been about connection and possibility. This series takes the spirit of the club and puts it into the heart of the city – celebrating the diversity, creativity and boldness of the scene in a way that is open to everyone,” The Tivoli Group Curator/Creative Director Dave Sleswick says. “We’re giving artists and audiences space to dance, breathe and celebrate what Brisbane can be when culture is accessible, ambitious and proudly ours.”

Maribou State will bring a warm, genre-blurring electronic sound to Brisbane with soulful, melody-rich DJ sets. . . Perfect for open-air summer nights. French multi-instrumentalist Folamour will serve up sunny, groove-driven energy, while Rose Gray will blend ‘90s rave style with sharp pop influence.

Swedish producer DJ Seinfeld is set to bring the emotional, club-ready sound of his album ‘Mirrors’, while Swiss house legend Jimi Jules blends jazz-trained musicianship with his Swiss-Caribbean roots. Cultural icon Bimini, whose breakout ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race UK’ fame propelled them to global acclaim, will blend fierce, late-night club energy with a sense of style and performance.

Plus, with a sound spanning high-octane house and techno, ABSOLUTE. has become one of the UK’s most exciting figures in dance music.

Southwave: Summer Electric Series is curated by The Tivoli Group. The event will coincide with, and complement, the inaugural On The Banks live music series at South Bank’s Cultural Forecourt.

“Southwave will add a new rhythm to South Bank’s summer,” South Bank CEO Julia Scodellaro says. “Our collaboration with The Tivoli Group reflects a shared commitment to supporting artists, celebrating diversity and making culture accessible to everyone. We’re looking forward to making this summer at South Bank one to remember, through shared experiences, great music and moments that bring people together.”
