At The Gov on Friday night (12 February), Soilwork played to a crowd of approx. 150 on the back of their latest album, 'The Ride Majestic'.
The album peaked at number three on the ARIA charts (their highest chart position), as many younger fans witnessed a band that continues to rise every time they release a new album.

Adelaide’s Se Bon Ki Ra and another Nuclear Blast label mate: Brisbane’s Aversion Crown joined Soilwork on the bill. Both bands are what is so great about Australian metal at the moment, as both showcased their craft through volume and sound.
Se Bon Ki Ra got the crowd pumped: they have killer riffs that make any fan – including those my age – bang their heads and raise those 'devils' up proudly like there's no tomorrow. Aversion Crown also brought flavour: these young guys screamed, joked and were one with the crowd. They are on the rise.

Soilwork is a band with so much energy: their music inspires fans both young and old. Not only was the crowd getting involved with their latest material, but many were as excited to hear some of their old-school songs; going as far back as 1999.

After the band left the stage the first time, a chant started somewhere near the back of the room... the band didn’t leave the fans waiting long before coming back to play not just the usual one or two songs, but five more songs: the crowd went nuts.

Even though the crowed was down, this didn’t stop those who where there from having an awesome time. There was such energy in the room that it did at times feel like it was a sold-out show. This was a credit not only to the band, but also to the fans that had come out to enjoy the show.
This was Soilwork's sixth visit to Australia, and many of the fans have waited patiently for their return. Bjorn 'Speed' Strid (frontman) welcomed the delightful crowd with many sing-a-longs and stories that left many saying “we can't wait till the next tour”.

Soilwork played hard, fast and loud, which caused no one to leave the venue disappointed.
