Soft Cell Australia 2025 Tour

Soft Cell
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

English synthpop, new wave legends Soft Cell will finally tour Australia for the very first time in 2025.

Best known for their iconic cover of Gloria Jones' 'Tainted Love' that features on their 1981 debut album 'Non Stop Erotic Cabaret', the duo of vocalist Marc Almond and instrumentalist David Ball will perform that record in full (including fan favourite 'Where Did Our Love Go' - a cover of The Supremes original) alongside a set of their greatest hits.

The tour will land in Perth, Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne in April. In addition to the band's hits, Almond will perform his solo material from a career that spans over 40 years. "I have always wanted to go to Australia," shares Marc.

"Over my 45-year career (yes that long) fans have always asked me when it might happen, so overjoyed to say that it is happening; and to perform both as Marc Almond with my solo hits, and then transform into Soft Cell on the same night will be another first.

"Everyone tells me Australians love to party and it promises to be something very special."

While 'Tainted Love' (the second biggest British single of 1981) and 'Where Did Our Love Go' remain 'Non Stop Erotic Cabaret''s most iconic songs, the album also contains 'Say Hello, Wave Goodbye', 'Sex Dwarf', 'Torch' and 'Bedsitter'.

Tickets on sale from 9am (local time) on 19 September.
