Punk-rock fans of Australia, a tour many dreamed of but most thought would never become reality is actually happening.
Two legends of the scene since the late '70s, LA heavyweights Social Distortion and Bad Religion have teamed up to tour our big, burnt piece of toast in early 2023 with concerts scheduled in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.Set to be their very first headline tour of Australia (and only their second visit down under in over 40 years) and helmed by the group's founder guitarist-singer Mike Ness, Social Distortion have released seven studio albums (their last being 2011's 'Hard Times And Nursery Rhymes').
With 'Story Of My Life', 'Reach For The Sky' and 'Ring Of Fire' in their arsenal, there are whispers circulating that Social Distortion could be working on a new studio record.
"Can't wait to get back to Australia in 2023 with our friends Bad Religion!" declares Social Distortion.
One of the biggest punk bands all-time, Bad Religion have maintained their underground credibility throughout their career since forming in 1980.
Across 17 studio albums (their last being 2019's 'Age Of Unreason'), their songs have covered subjects such as religion, politics, society, the media and science.
Their classics include 'American Jesus', '21st Century (Digital Boy'), 'You' and 'Punk Rock Song', with frontman Greg Graffin being their only constant member. Though founding members Jay Bentley and Brett Gurewitz have also been with the band for most of their history, while guitarist Brian Baker has been a member of the group since 1994.
This will be Bad Religion's first visit to Australia since appearing at Good Things Festival in 2019.
