Melbourne rock favourites Slowly Slowly hit 2020 at full-speed with the release of their third studio album 'Race Car Blues' in February.
'Race Car Blues' is the follow-up to Slowly Slowly's critically-acclaimed 2018 sophomore album and the band have already given a taste of their new material with the launch of the title track and an accompanying video clip.
The album captures a formative period for Slowly Slowly frontman Ben Stewart; where 'St. Leonards' found him reflecting on his entire life – harking back to painful moments and trying to rectify them – this album traverses through a crucial 18 months of self assessment and development.
“For me [music] is an obsessive thing," Ben says in a recent interview with Scenestr.
"It’s a compulsion that I’ve always had in me. I think I’ve just succumbed to it in the past 18 months. This is me, I’m not going to put up with the day job thing anymore, I can’t put on the different masks to get through the week. When I’m at the desk writing music, when I’m on stage, that’s my happiness, that’s when I feel myself the most."

Following a landmark year in 2019 and armed with their most commanding work to-date, Slowly Slowly are in pole position for another championship round.
'Race Car Blues' is out Friday 28 February. General tickets to Slowly Slowly's tour go on sale Thursday 30 January at 9am EDT. Click here for more information.
