Silverchair drummer, Ben Gillies has stepped out from behind the drum kit to release his first solo single, the enchanting 'Breathe In, Breathe Out'.
A project he's been working on for the last five years, the song is an instant ear worm fusing Ben's warm yet aching vocals, a brooding guitar hook and a shimmery alt-pop melody."'Breathe In, Breathe Out' is a microcosm of the human experience," Gillies says, "to recognise every moment. To stop, be present, take it in, and not to take it for granted." Sage advice.
Gillies sings and plays many of the instruments on his solo material, and has also called in some musician friends including Scott Aplin (music director for 'The Voice') who at one time played keyboard in Silverchair, and Pat Davern, guitarist for Grinspoon.
