With their new studio album, 'Kaleidoscope Eyes', only a month away from release, Brisbane pop group Sheppard will perform a special, one-off live show in their home town that they will also stream to the rest of the world.
The band have had a massive few months that included performing to four million fans during the AFL's Grand Final Day celebrations as well as their previous single 'Solid Gold' being announced as the theme song for NBC network's coverage of the Tokyo Olympics. "Brisbane has played such a monumentally important role in not only our career, but also our music," George Sheppard says.
"We couldn't think of anywhere on earth we'd rather celebrate the release of our new record than in our home town, with our fans.
"We didn't want anyone else to miss out on the show though, so we're going to be streaming the entire performance online for anyone in another state or country."
In 2020, Sheppard undertook a project to record and release a new song every month for a year. Eleven of these tracks feature on the 16-track 'Kaleidoscope Eyes'. "This is an album dedicated to the wonders of love, in every form," the band says.
"When you're in love, the world feels like a more colourful, vibrant place – like someone has turned the saturation up on the world around you.
"This is our version of what that vivid, euphoric experience would sound like. We've poured everything we have into this album over the last two years, and we can't wait to have this labour of love out there in the world for you all to enjoy forever."
Sheppard play The Fortitude Music Hall (Brisbane) on 26 February.
'Kaleidoscope Eyes' will be released on 26 February.
