The underground will be in full force when new warehouse rave Shelter Festival debuts at Melbourne's Seaworks space next year.
To be headline by Slovenian techno legend UMEK ('Watchers Of The Sky', 'Cryptic Speech', 'Vibrancy') as well as German techno-house duo Teenage Mutants ('Falling For You', 'Hanging On'), the inaugural Shelter Festival will be staged 2 April. The two international headliners will be joined by Melbourne melodic techno and progressive house duo The Journey and local Carl Cox protege Rory Marshall.
Also added to the bill are a number of rising DJ-producer stars including Brisbane's Skram (who played Splendour XR), Yanzo (who opened for Marlo earlier this year), Cicada Nightclub co-owner Lucas Boston and fellow Melburnian North Barton.
"Festivals are back baby; bring on summer," The Journey says.
"Truly honoured to be supporting some incredible acts at Shelter Festival next year. Cannot wait to get amongst it in an amazing location close to my home," adds North Barton.
Seaworks is located right on the water in Williamstown, just 15 minutes from the Melbourne CBD.
Tickets on sale from 16 December. More information.
