For the very first time, Shane Smith & The Saints will tour Australia.
The Austin, Texas, band renewed for their cinematic folk-country storytelling will headline concerts in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne in October. These will be the first opportunities for local fans to hear such red dirt country anthems like 'All I See You', 'Cocaine Habit', 'Dance The Night Away' and 'Mountain Girl'.
"This has been a long time coming! Touring Australia has been a pipe dream for over a decade," declares the band. "We've always had a great connection with Aussies and feel like these shows are going to be incredible. So excited to get to play and explore some new spots during our downtime."
Last year Shane Smith & The Saints released their fourth studio album 'Norther' and appeared on everyone's favourite ranch 'Yellowstone', as well as filling Red Rocks Amphitheatre in 2023.
With a blend of country, Celtic, southern rock, folk and honky-tonk, Shane Smith & The Saints offer hard-hitting roadhouse good times doused in country rock & roll.
"It's like you can't help but feel like you've paid your dues to get to a certain spot, but once you get there, you realise you're just starting to touch the surface of the bigger picture," Shane admits. "At the end of the day, it still feels like we're getting discovered, but maybe that's what it's all about."
The band's sound has been shaped by the road, where the Saints have spent the past decade on tour building a cult audience with each gig. "If you spend ten years playing dive bars and small clubs almost every single night, and you go to the merch booth after every show and hang out with the fans until the staff literally kicks you out, you get to turn those fans into friends," Smith says.
"That's how we built this thing. We've done as many as 240 shows in a single year. We've worked so hard to get there, and that hard work has created a beautiful, meaningful audience."
Tickets on sale from 10am (local time) on 16 May.
