After being deported by Australian authorities for breaching his visa conditions, Brandon Hoogenboom — lead singer of Sydney-based indie-pop trio Set Sail — was forced to take his band name literally earlier this year.
After a Facebook petition went viral and attracted over 8,500 signatures of support within a day of its creation, Hoogenboom is back on Australian soil and Set Sail are ready to once again to take on the Australian music scene. They're set to embark on a tour of the country with a new six-track mini-album, Hey!, the band's first new material since their debut offering in 2011, The Riley Moore EP.
Ready to showcase their infectious, energetic and unpredictable live performance, the band promise a show true to their trademark form. They’ve already been arrested in Madrid for street busking, played to a crowd of thousands in their jocks in London, and performed 30,000 feet above sea level on a Virgin Atlantic flight across the Tasman Sea. What they get up to while they’re on tour in Australia is anybody’s guess.
