Brazilian heavy metal legends are calling it a day more than 40 years after they formed in Belo Horizonte in 1984, but not before a final global tour that includes a voyage to Australia next year.
The metal stalwarts behind a slew of heavy anthems like 'Roots Bloody Roots', 'Refuse / Resist', 'Territory' and 'Ratamahatta' will headline concerts in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane next March.
"Australia, our farewell celebration wouldn't be complete without you! 🤘🇦🇺," the band posted.
Last in Australia for 2023 Good Things Festival and a number of side shows, we described their Brisbane headline concert as 'I feel like I might overdose on my own serotonin. . . It is exhilarating and cathartic at the same time.'
"We've always had the best fans in the world, who supported us with praise and criticism, who were demanding and intelligent, who grew together with the band and have always been loyal," the band says.
"Without you, none of this would have been possible. This album and this tour are for you. Dear SepulNation, we love you and always will."
Sepultura resume speaks for itself: 14 gold records (across 15 studio albums), journeys through 80 countries, countless cultural exchanges, and 20M records sold worldwide, while their landmark 1996 record 'Roots' has surpassed 240M Spotify streams.
For this final journey, the band is joined by 21-year-old American drummer Greyson Nekrutman (formerly of Suicidal Tendencies 2023-2024) as they undertake a worldwide run that spans multiple continents and revisits every era of their catalogue.
During the tour, the band will record 40 live tracks across 40 cities, forming an epic compilation that captures their strongest moments onstage.
Australia, it's time to raise the horns one, final time with Sepultura.
