For the very first time, Australia will welcome the Icy Queen when Saweetie tours this winter.
Known for her Doja Cat collab 'Best Friend' as well as a host of bangers including 'My Type', 'Tap In' and 'ICY GRL', Saweetie will headline concerts in Perth, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney in July-August.From a famous family, one of Saweetie's uncles is MC Hammer, while her grandfather played NFL in the 1970s. Actress Gabrielle Union and record producer Zaytoven are her cousins.
While her debut album has been in the works since 2020, Saweetie is working towards releasing 'Pretty Bitch Music' at some point in 2025. The album's tracklisting is expected to feature 'Tap In', 'Back To The Streets feat. Jhené Aiko', 'Best Friend feat. Doja Cat', 'Fast (Motion)' and 'Closer feat. H.E.R'.
"You really understand who I am as a person," Saweetie says, who was incredibly hands-on, sketching out the project's themes, co-producing tracks, and planning the aesthetics.
"I feel like my records are fun, but there's always an underlying message that makes my fans want to boss up, and to be fabulous while they're doing it. . . I feel like my records have become summer anthems."
On 'Pretty Bitch Music' she encourages women to flip the derogatory term into an acronym of empowerment: B(oss) I(ndependent) T(ough) C(EO) H(yphy).
"I want my fans to be unapologetically themselves and to be independent. When people listen to my music they feel like a bad bitch."
