Save The Dates: Summer Camp Festival Returns, Jessie Ware Headlines

Jessie Ware
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Slip, slop, slay. Summer Camp Festival returns to Melbourne and Sydney in 2023 for the queers, curious, and cuties.

It’s the 2023 iteration of the event that kicked off in a big way last year, which featured artists like Years & Years, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Big Freedia, The Veronicas and more.

Well, get your besties together and mark your calendars for another round – featuring live music, DJs, art and performances. . . In 2023, the first artist to join the celebrations is UK pop icon Jessie Ware.

This will be Jessie’s first visit to Australia in ten years. . . And a lot has happened in that decade. She’s had a total of six top ten UK albums, 2.5 billion streams worldwide, performances at Glastonbury, Primavera Sound and more, a #1 podcast, and a duet with our own Kylie Minogue. Jessie has been cemented as a pop disco queen and a loyal, queer ally.

Jessie has also just released the new single and video for ‘Freak Me Now’, a collaboration with legendary electronic pop singer Roisin Murphy. This is an updated version of a fan-favourite track from Jessie’s critically-adored latest work ‘That! Feels Good!’, which features previous singles ‘Free Yourself’, ‘Pearls’, and ‘Begin Again’.

Summer Camp Festival is on in Melbourne on 2 December and Sydney on 3 December.
