Straight after a sold-out 2021 event (15 May), Darwin’s BASSINTHEGRASS organisers are sharing the date for next year’s festivities.
The 2021 BASSINTHEGRASS was the biggest since it began in 2003, attracting a crowd of 14,000 people from across Australia. Half of all tickets were snapped up by people interstate.
“BASSINTHEGRASS keeps getting bigger and better every year. This year’s line-up is testament to the event’s stature on the festival scene. We can’t wait to get stuck in and deliver another epic event in 2022,” Northern Territory Major Events Company CEO Tim Watsford says.
“BASSINTHEGRASS 2021 sold out months in advance and we expect the 2022 instalment to attract even larger crowds from around Australia.”
The 2022 event will take place on 21 May.

“Combined with our amazing tourism experiences and perfect weather, Darwin is the place to be next May.”
BASSINTHEGRASS takes place under the Top End’s famous blue skies, now in its 18th year. It was originally held at George Brown Darwin Botanic Gardens, but was moved to Mindil Beach to allow for a bigger, better experience.
The 2022 line-up will drop in the coming months.
