This weekend the Sandgate Town Hall plays host to the iconic Music by the Sea Festival, a must-see for those with a penchant for comedy and film, as well as classical, jazz and world music.
In its 11th year, the Music by the Sea festival kicks off this Friday at 7pm with the musical stylings of trumpeter Conor Mewburn, followed by performances from Geoff Fabila, The Birdmann and Kingfisha.
Lead singer Emily Lubitz said the band was enthusiastic about playing at the event. "I love coming to Brisbane, I love Queensland. The last time we were there it was a beautiful crowd."
Sunday's spectators are in for a treat with a collaboration between violinist Zoe Black and pianist Joe Chindamo, whose musical repertoire includes work by the masters and original compositions, followed by pianist Tamara Anna Cislowska performing the works of Franz Liszt.
The festival runs until Sunday night. For more info, head to musicbythesea.com.au.
