Fresh from releasing his sophomore album ('Lahai') six-plus years since his Mercury Prize-winning debut record ('Process'), English artist Sampha is returning to Australia.
Set to perform at Perth Festival, the '(No One Knows Me) Like The Piano' singer-songwriter will headline concerts in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne from late February.Earlier this year, Sampha returned to the stage (his first live performances in five years) when he presented his Satellite Business residencies in London and New York – where he and his band performed in the round. The Melbourne leg of this tour will present an exclusive Satellite Business performance.
Taken from his paternal grandfather's name, which is also Sampha's middle name, 'Lahai' spans 14 tracks and features contributions from some of Sampha's closest friends, peers and collaborators: Yaeji, Léa Sen, Sheila Maurice Grey (Kokoroko), Ibeyi, Morgan Simpson (black midi), Yussef Dayes, Laura Groves and Kwake Bass.
"I'm full of gratitude. I appreciate anyone taking the time to listen. I love making music and it's a blessing to be able to share this with you all now," Sampha posted when 'Lahai' was released.
Tickets on sale from 10am (local time) on 2 November.
