Herald Sun music reporter Nui Te Koha is at again, telling Triple M this morning that The Rolling Stones are about to embark on a 20-date 50th anniversary tour that could include a free show in Australia.
Koha told the station: "The concerts are going to be free and that it's all going to be sponsored by corporates. That's the latest mail. You would have to think Australia is in the mix for one of the 20 spots up for grabs, surely."
Before you rush off to buy tickets, consider the source of the information and his recent form. Koha was right about Prince's Australian tour, but not when it would be announced or when and where it would take place, and his reports that Bruce Springsteen would play this year's AFL Grand Final, Radiohead would headline this year's Big Day Out and The Offspring and Evanescence would headline Soundwave were all quickly debunked.
Long story short, we don't think it'll happen (at least, not for free). Still... you'd be mad not to be a little bit excited about the possibility, wouldn't you?
