RÜFÜS DU SOL To Release New Studio Album 'Surrender', Drop Sleek Club Banger 'On My Knees'

RÜFÜS DU SOL's new studio album is titled 'Surrender'.
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Australian electronic group, RÜFÜS DU SOL will next month release their fourth studio album titled 'Surrender'.

Three years removed from their last record, 2018's 'Solace' (which won Best Dance Release at the ARIA Awards), the trio of Tyrone Lindqvist, Jon George, and James Hunt have so far released the 'Alive' and 'Next To Me' singles from the album that both highlight a heavier edge to RÜFÜS DU SOL.

Now they're dropped a third single. A darker, more menacing sound emanates on 'On My Knees', the Grammy-nominated electronic act dishing up a sleeker club banger that pulsates with a throbbing energy that needs a dance floor for the ultimate release.

There's hints of Chemical Brothers, even fellow Aussie legends The Presets and the brooding industrial tones of Trent Reznor as Tyrone hauntingly sings: "If you could see me now, I'd probably let you down / Looks like I'm on my knees again, feels like the walls are closing in."

Yet it's clear 'On My Knees' – as well as 'Alive' and 'Next To Me' – showcases an act fully immersed in their sound, building sonic worlds that have attracted a global following.

"For this song we had a lot of fun writing something that was darker, driving and a little more edgy," James explains.

"It's definitely one of the most banging tracks on the record – we referenced some of our favourite club music for the drum programming and had fun envisioning the time when we could finally play this live.

"It had an amazing reaction at our Red Rocks shows last month, which was really special for us."

As RÜFÜS DU SOL gear up to play to 70,000 fans (across three nights) at the Los Angeles Banc of California Stadium, with festival appearances (remember those) slated at Governors Ball, Austin City Limits, III Points in the US, 'Surrender' will be released 22 October. Pre-order it.
