Currently blasting their way across the northern hemisphere's summer with a stack of live dates including a number of major festivals, Royel Otis will return home this spring.
Fresh from owning the Glastonbury stage as well as Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, the 'Oysters In My Pocket' and 'Sofa King' hitmakers will headline concerts in Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and Perth this October."Glasto! That was incredible. You were incredible. Thank ya for singing and dancing with us," the band posted recently.
With upcoming dates at Governor's Ball (New York City), Lollapalooza (Chicago & Berlin), Fuji Rock (Japan), and Reading & Leeds festivals, next month Royel Otis will release their sophomore album 'Hickey' (out 22 August; pre-order it). "Because love bites harder than any other emotion in the world," posted the band, discussing the album title.
The Breakthrough Independent Artist Of The Year winners at 2024 AIR Awards, who also scored the Emerging Songwriter Of The Year gong at 2025 APRA Awards, recently shared album single 'Car'.
"This is a song about goodbyes. We hope you love it. . . Thanks for all the love on our new song 'Car'. Can't wait to play it live for you somewhere soon 🩷."
With a slew of bangers like 'Kool Aid', 'Warm Nights', 'Motels' and 'Foam' as well as some seriously cool covers including The Cranberries 'Linger' and Sophie Ellis-Bextor's 'Murder On The Dancefloor', the pair have cemented their status as one of the most effortless and endearing indie rock bands to emerge this decade.
"We just want to make people dance together. Everyone's invited," Otis Pavlovic says.
