An icon of Perth's live music scene, Rosemount Hotel have revealed a new, in-house booking team dedicated to programming more diverse events in 2021.
Given the circumstances surrounding COVID and the related decimation of live touring (national and international), the venue found itself internally examining the best approach to maintaining its top-notch hospitality while still investing in live music.Alongside long-standing General Manager, Calvin Hook, the new appointments are Sinead O'Hara (as Programming & Communications Manager) and Ashlyn Koh (as Programming Coordinator).
"The decision to bring all programming in-house is an exciting change that enables us to more closely nurture the amazing cultural talent that's in WA as well as personally servicing the needs of touring bands, national promoters and agents," Calvin says.
"With an experienced and dedicated in-house team, we're looking forward to developing closer relationships with the music industry and exploring new directions in live music, cultural entertainment and hospitality.
"We'll be welcoming all kinds of genres, audiences and shows into the venue – and this is just the start of exciting changes in store for 2021."
Sinead joins the Rosemount team full-time with a wealth of industry experience that includes managing the marketing and operations of Rosemount Hotel as well as Mojos Bar, Rock Rover, The Moon Cafe and YMCA HQ for the past three years.
She also runs her own artist management services company, BASE MGMT, and is a member of local group Flossy.
For the past four years, Ashlyn has programmed the live entertainment at Rosemount Hotel as well as Mojos Bar, The Moon Cafe, and Rock Rover.
Ashlyn also runs her own management service company, King Of Hearts, where she looks after Fraeya, Calmly and Foam; she also performs in various Perth bands such as Big Cry and Bexx.
"The Rosie's had many incarnations over the years – starting out as a meeting place in 1902 to being one of the first venues in Perth to support original artists," Calvin says.
"We're continuing its legacy as one of the go-to stages in WA for Australia's best home-grown artists and the world's hottest touring bands – once borders fully open again."
Upcoming live gigs at Rosemount Hotel include South Summit (12 Feb), Traec (13 Feb), Verge Collection (20 Feb), Jeff Martin (25 Mar), Vdelli (16 Apr), Sleepmakeswaves (17 Apr) and Sly Withers (7 May).
